Heavy Industrial Plant Fabrication

Heavy Industrial Plant Fabrication
This project included structural steel detailing for a heavy industrial plant expansion consisting of pipe racks, equipment platforms, stair towers, and conveyor structures. Our team handled the complete 3D modeling, connection detailing, GA drawings, and MTOs using Steel Structures. Coordination was crucial due to the large volume of interfacing with equipment, piping, and foundation elements.
We worked closely with the EPC contractor to maintain constructability and ensure bolt alignments, anchor layouts, and clearance zones were error-free. Clash detection and sequencing were done using Navisworks, allowing clean model handover for fabrication and installation.
Key Deliverables
Our team produces detailed fabrication models and drawings for plant structures, including platforms and pipe racks, with full compliance to industrial standards and integration of equipment interfaces.
-
3D model of full structural scope (pipe racks, platforms, stairs)
-
Shop drawings and GA drawings
-
Anchor bolt layouts and baseplate designs
-
MTOs by area and phase
-
Erection drawings and part marking plans
-
Clash detection with piping and foundation coordination

Our Working Process
Clash detection with piping and foundation coordination
Model Development
Developed a Steel 3D model including pipe rack steel, supports, and platforms.
Drawing & Detailing
Generated fabrication drawings for platforms, columns, beams, stair towers, and bolt lists.
Coordination & Optimization
Used Navisworks to coordinate with piping, equipment, and civil layouts for fit and clearance.
Result & Impact
Thanks to our proactive clash resolution and early coordination, this large-volume detailing package was completed in record time. It allowed the fabricator to begin cutting and welding within days of drawing submission. Our detailing approach also prevented on-site modifications, keeping the project on track for commissioning. This engagement helped reduce steel waste and improved layout efficiency across multiple plant zones.
